Take the Challenge-Advertising Proposal

I think that we should advertise our podcasts by:
Making our own website where we will put all of our Word Generation podcasts on it. We should put a survey or a poll on the side and let people vote on how well our website and podcasts are. After we finish making the website, we could put it on the front page of our school website. We can make interesting banners and posters for people to see that the Media Arts Class is making Word Generation podcasts.

I think this is a good way to advertise our podcasts because we will not have to take up so much space on the school website and our website will run faster.

Blog Entry: Semester Paragraph

In the first semester of Media Arts, we have learned many new things, such as from doing a voice recording for a podcast to adding more things to it, such as music, pictures, video recordings, and animations. We have made many advancements for our podcasts. When we first arrived to this class, we didn't know what to expect. The first project or assignment that we had to do was the CST test scores comparison. I thought it was a little boring because we were just looking for evidence and data, but later on in the year it has gotten more fun! This year we did Word Generation podcasts mostly, but it was still interesting and fun because we worked with new people that we didn't know much about and we had to work together to complete the podcasts. We had some breakdowns and frustrations, but when we worked everything out, everything worked out. The new programs that we used for our podcasts are Kerpoof, Garageband, and Imovie. My favorite was using Kerpoof, because I got to make pictures and drawings. Overall, this year was exciting, interesting, and educational.

clarity of speech
(Can understand every word spoken. Not too fast nor too slow. )

creative look
(the title, images, video and credits are all easy to see and make you want to look at the podcast. Illustrations are related to the word or sentence and feel original and fresh. The credits don’t go by too quickly and are readable. There’s a sense that the whole podcast has the same theme and look)

creative production
(The music adds quality to the podcast. It’s not too loud nor too soft. You can hear speech over the music easily.  The speed of the podcast is even and flows without blank spots or awkward cuts. There’s something interesting about the way it’s all put together. The Kerpoof picture is relevant to the word and a sentence and makes the podcast more interesting)
including all requirements

(This week’s requirement was to use a Kerpoof picture with a cartoon that used at least one of the words. Great means they used more than one. There also must be
1.     definition
2.     WG sentence
3.     Original sentence
4.     Credits  with no last names
5.     Bibliography with name of web site and urls
6.     Document named the word)
Great

Very great beginning and the pictures are perfectly matched with the voices.
The music is just right because it’s not to loud and not to soft. It goes in the background while members are saying their lines.
They included all the requirements including the Kerpoof picture.
Needs a little work
I think that they need to say the lines just a little bit faster and with more emotion.

Needs a lot of work or isn’t there at all

Great
I can understand all the words and sentences each member of the team says.

It has all the requirements that are required including the Kerpoof Picture.
Needs a little work

It needs a Title because it looks like it does not have an introduction and doesn't make it look interesting
It needs music because it sounds kind of boring without it and it will make it sound good.

Needs a lot of work or isn’t there at all

Kerpoof Picture

Derives
My picture was easy to make because I found pictures that matched the word very well.  The picture we chose for our podcast is my picture. The reason we chose mine, is that my picture explained and showed what the word derives mean. I feel that this was a good choice to choose this because it reflected what the word actually means. Kerpoof is the program we used to make this picture and I thought it was a really interesting program because it had a lot of features on it, such as making pictures, a drawing tool, and creating stories.

Team-Work

=>CLICK HERE TO WATCH WORD GENERATION WEEK 7 PODCAST<=
It was a fantastic experience working with my group members Luz and Gordon for Word Generation podcast week 7. We all worked equally and fairly to try to even out the work, so we can all have a part in making the podcast. We all got to know each other better, even though we already know them as friends or classmates. I thought that Luz was acting really professional and taking things seriously. Gordon should've done a little more work and Luz is a good leader, but I think she should've been in the video for at least one part. Overall, they're both great and fun people to work with. It is hard to get along with people that you don't want to work with, but when you start working with them, you will start to change your mind about it. It takes a lot of effort to try to get your team members to say the right things while recording or to try to get them to say their lines with emotion, but once you have done so, you will find it very rewarding and your teacher will love your work.

Word Generation (Motivate)

Recent Podcast

In Francisco Middle School we have started a new program called Word Generation. Word Generation will help us as students improve our vocabulary and reading skills as we move on in life. We do this each week and in my Media Arts class we get into groups and make podcasts for each word. When we first started making our podcasts, we didn't really know how to make these podcasts and thought that it was going to be confusing, but if you compare our 1st podcast to the recent one it would show a major difference with our expressions, emotions, music, and how our pictures match with our voice.

Welcome to Jessie's Portfolio

Greetings from Jessie and welcome to my online portfolio. This online portfolio is for a high school to look at and it is also for my Media Arts class. This online portfolio shows my work (projects, essays, etc..) that I have done in my classes. Each one of my works will have a short description describing and explaining what I did.
